Credentials & Education
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Janet Wong has stayed close to home to be with her family. In 2010, she obtained her BS in Physiology at San Francisco State University. During that time, she also obtained a minor in Holistic Health, volunteered at UCSF, and worked with children at the local YMCA. She decided to study Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University, where she got her Masters in 2014. Janet completed work study programs in the school’s clinic, herb room, and library allowing her to gain a deeper understanding of the practice of medicine. While studying, she completed externships in both China (summer 2012 and 2013) and Taiwan (Winter 2013). It was during the first China externship that she met her mentor, Dr. Polin Shyu, a renowned specialist in the field of fertility. Since 2012, Janet has been under a close mentorship with Dr. Shyu.
During her travels and studies Janet has had the opportunity to follow many doctors allowing her to learn about the treatment of many illnesses and diseases. Back pain, frozen shoulder, post stroke rehabilitation, and Women’s Health are some of the main treatments she encountered. She can also treat high blood pressure, diabetes, and give pediatric care using herbs and/or acupuncture.
